Cautions
-
Load Capacity: Always make sure that the weight and size of the load being secured DOES NOT EXCEED THE LASHING CAPACITY specified by Werka for this device and the 9mm rope(s). Overloading can lead to failure of the device and potential damage or injury.
-
Secure Anchoring: Verify that both anchor points on your vehicle or trailer are solid and secure. A weak anchor point may give way under tension.
-
Rope Condition: Regularly inspect the rope for signs of wear, fraying, or damage. A damaged rope can fail under load, causing the cargo to become unsecured.
-
Hitch Inspection: Prior to each use, inspect the Mechanical Hitch Device for any signs of damage or excessive wear, particularly to the cam locks and pull handles. Check for cracks in the plastic bodies (Front and back body)
-
Correct Usage: Ensure that the rope is threaded correctly through the channels and that the cam locks engage fully when tension is applied. Improper use may prevent the device from securing the load properly.
-
Releasing Loads: When releasing the load, stand clear and ensure others are at a safe distance as well. Sudden release of tension may cause the rope or cargo to move unexpectedly.
-
Personal Protection: If possible wear appropriate protective equipment, such as gloves and safety glasses, when handling the Mechanical Hitch and rope.
-
Training: Please familiarise yourself with the safe operation of the Mechanical Hitch Device prior to operation. If you're unsure about anything, seek assistance or further training. Please read the instructions located on the back of the Mechanical Hitch Device Packaging and or on our website also before use. Any further questions regarding use of the device can be emailed to James@WERKA.com.au
